Lady Broncs beat TSU 3-1

Fourth-straight victory

For the first time since 2007, The University of Texas- Pan American has snatched its fourth victory in a row. The Lady Broncs took a 3-1 win over the Texas Southern University Tigers Thursday night.

The Tigers took the first set 25-22, but the Lady Broncs responded by gliding through the next couple of sets, 25-14 and 25-17.

The fourth set proved to be more difficult. After the Broncs held the lead at 17-12, the Tigers came back at 21-20. Points flew back and forth as the Broncs came back to lead at 25-24, having their first chance at a match point. The Broncs came through with the win at the end, 31-29.

Junior Nycole Masaki had 36 of the Broncs’ 43 assists and Michelle McNamee had a career-high 16 kills and nine digs. Sarah Davis had a match-best .556 hitting percentage, with 12 kills on 18 attacks.

The Lady Broncs will face off New Jersey Institute of Technology Saturday at 1 p.m. as they hope to get their first fifth-straight win since 2005.
